Welcome to Still:Saving

I started couponing as a new wife in South Carolina. Our budget was very small, and I knew there had to be a way to get more for our money.

Over the years, friends have ask how I save so much money at the grocery or how I get all of my shampoo for free. This is my attempt to share the things I've learned over the years by playing the grocery and drugstore "game."

Track Your Grocery Savings

I blogged last year about the spreadsheet I used to track my 2009 Grocery Savings.

However, I found a new spreadsheet that I think is an even better resource than my measly spreadsheet.

Angela, over at The Coupon Project, has created the best FREE downloadable Savings Tracker.

I have started using this year and love it. Some of the features include:

  • Easily imput your monthly and yearly goals
  • Enter data from your reciepts and let the preset formulas tally your spending, savings, actual-to-budget, and more
  • Track and manage your rebates (NEW!)
  • Determine how much you saved with coupons, store sales, and rebates
  • Have your monthly and year-to-date savings ratio update instantly
I especially like that I set my goal grocery budget for the month, and as I input receipts I can watch my remaining monthly balance change. It's a little more accountability for me to watch how much I spend each week!

So, check out The Coupon Project and let me know if you end up trying out the Savings Tracker spreadsheet. Or, if you have a resource that you LOVE to use to tracker your spending/savings at the grocery share that with us! I'm always on the lookout for new tools.
